This is essential to ensure that the roof structure can withstand the <strong data-start=\"258\" data-end=\"272\">wind loads<\/strong> expected for a specific building \u2014 based on its <strong data-start=\"321\" data-end=\"333\">location<\/strong>, <strong data-start=\"335\" data-end=\"345\">height<\/strong>, and <strong data-start=\"351\" data-end=\"363\">geometry<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><p data-start=\"415\" data-end=\"739\">During the test, the full roof system is built up as it would be in practice \u2014 including all layers such as the <strong data-start=\"527\" data-end=\"545\">vapour barrier<\/strong>, <strong data-start=\"547\" data-end=\"561\">insulation<\/strong>, and <strong data-start=\"567\" data-end=\"594\">waterproofing membranes<\/strong>. This build-up is then placed in a test rig where <strong data-start=\"645\" data-end=\"666\">negative pressure<\/strong> is applied in controlled <strong data-start=\"692\" data-end=\"702\">cycles<\/strong>, with the load gradually increasing.<\/p><\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The results of the test are recorded in a <strong data-start=\"783\" data-end=\"798\">test report<\/strong>. The key outcome is the maximum load that the system successfully withstands without damage or detachment \u2014 referred to as the <strong data-start=\"926\" data-end=\"950\">tested value (Wtest)<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">To ensure safety in real-world applications, a <strong data-start=\"1000\" data-end=\"1017\">safety factor<\/strong> is applied to Wtest in line with local regulations, resulting in the <strong data-start=\"1087\" data-end=\"1114\">admissible value (Wadm)<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Wadm is used in the <strong data-start=\"1170\" data-end=\"1195\">wind load calculation<\/strong> during the design of a roof.
