The choice of primer depends on two factors: the <strong data-start=\"232\" data-end=\"263\">type of bituminous membrane<\/strong> and whether the primer is <strong data-start=\"290\" data-end=\"322\" data-is-only-node=\"\">solvent-based or water-based<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">For the self-adhesive<strong> IKO secura<\/strong>, we recommend the resin primer <strong>IKO pro Activator<\/strong>, which is available in a convenient pressurized container of 19.6 kg, in a spray of 750 mL, or in a 5 L can.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">For <strong>self-adhesive IKO bitumen base layers<\/strong> and bitumen vapor barriers, we recommend the primer <strong>IKO pro SA Bitumen Primer<\/strong>, based on SBS bitumen.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">For all other IKO bituminous roofing membranes, we recommend both <strong>IKO pro Quick Primer<\/strong> and <strong>IKO pro ECO Primer<\/strong>. IKO pro Quick Primer contains solvents and dries after approximately 30 minutes at 20 degrees Celsius. IKO pro ECO Primer is water-based, so the drying time depends more on the temperature.
