Packing tapes around membranes have been in general made of polyvinyl chloride ( PVC ). The advantage is their elasticity and the fact that PVC is a stable underground for color printing logo’s and product information. A back draw is that PVC tapes contain chloride elements and need to be taken away before torching the membranes at the head-overlap.
Since a few years, polypropylene tapes ( PP ) are used more and more to wrap the membranes. PP tapes do not contain chloride elements and are therefore better from an ecological point of view. They don’t need to be taken away before torching the head-overlap. Unfortunately, the color printing on the tape tends to fade away quickly when in sunlight. Therefore in order to still have a clear tape, we use black and white printing on the PP tapes.
Our Atelia range of products are taped with PP tapes and a black/white color print. Herewith we improve even more the ecological impact of our products.
