In a compact roof system, where the various layers are bonded together using warm bitumen, a PIR insulation board with a mineral glass fleece facing is applied (IKO enertherm MG). These MG boards can be bonded both to the substrate with warm bitumen and to the bituminous roofing membrane installed on top.
A major advantage of this type of roof construction is that the entire build-up forms a single, cohesive unit, making compartmentalization unnecessary. Leaks in this type of assembly are very rare, and if they do occur, they are easier to detect and locate. The correct product selection and fastening method are always specified in the applicable certificates of conformity for the application.
