How many screws are used to fasten an IKO Enertherm PIR insulation board on a flat roof?

Screws in PIR insulation boards serve a dual purpose:

  • Ensuring the proper long-term connection between insulation boards.
  • Providing sufficient resistance against wind loads for the roof.

To guarantee proper connection, a minimum number of screws per board is required

  • 4 screws per board for small-sized boards
  • 6 screws per board for large-sized boards.

Additional screws may be necessary depending on the wind load. Factors such as building location, building height, and terrain roughness influence this. To address these factors, IKO can perform a wind load calculation.
