Screws in PIR insulation boards serve a dual purpose:
- Ensuring the proper long-term connection between insulation boards.
- Providing sufficient resistance against wind loads for the roof.
To ensure proper connection, a minimum number of screws per plate is necessary:
- 4 screws per plate for small size plates
- 6 screws per plate for large format plates.
A number of additional screws may be necessary as a function of the occurring wind load and are determined, among other things, by the building location, building height and terrain roughness. To identify this, IKO can perform a wind load calculation.
