What load can IKO enertherm PIR insulation withstand?

IKO enertherm PIR insulation has a compressive strength of 150–175 kPa at 10% deformation and complies with load class P3 and walkability class C. This makes the product suitable for use under walkable roofs and roofs with technical installations.

The compressive strength listed on the technical data sheet refers to the maximum short-term load at 10% deformation. However, such a deformation is not desirable in practice, which is why it’s essential to assess the required long-term performance of the insulation in collaboration with your structural engineer.

IKO provides data on the long-term compressive performance (creep resistance) of its insulation boards, offering a more accurate picture of long-term deformation based on specific deformation criteria.
