Which PIR insulation can be used in façades in compliance with fire regulations?

Façade applications are divided into several categories. IKO enertherm can be used as external wall insulation, cavity wall insulation, or internal wall insulation. When selecting your insulation solution, it is essential to take the applicable fire regulations into account.

For internal insulation of a façade wall, factors such as building function, room usage, and room surface area must be considered.
If the façade is insulated externally, the building height becomes a key factor in determining the minimum fire performance requirements for the façade system and the insulation material used.

In general, IKO offers two types of PIR insulation boards for façade use:

  • IKO enertherm with multilayer ALU facing

  • IKO enertherm with pure ALU facing

The product selection and application possibilities depend on the relevant national fire safety requirements. All IKO PIR boards intended for façade applications are equipped with a tongue-and-groove joint for optimal continuity and performance.
