What is the difference between IKO pro Tinascoat and IKO Rephalt?

Both IKO pro Tinascoat and IKO Rephalt are used for road surface repairs, but they differ in terms of application and properties.

IKO pro Tinascoat:

  • Application: This product is used for temporary repairs or temporary reprofiling of bituminous surfaces (such as asphalt), particularly in areas with low or moderate traffic.
  • Properties: IKO pro Tinascoat is a cold-applied, hydrocarbon-based aggregate that remains flexible after application. This makes it ideal for short-term repairs. However, over time – especially with heavy traffic – the road damage may reappear.
  • Usage: Suitable for use on public roads, driveways, lanes, and parking areas.

IKO Rephalt:

  • Usage: This product is mainly used for high-traffic roads and heavily used areas.
  • Application: IKO Rephalt is designed for permanent repairs or renewal of asphalt or concrete pavements.
  • Properties: It is a cold-applied, reactive asphalt that cures quickly. Once cured, it reaches the strength of asphalt or concrete, making it ideal for durable, long-term repairs of damaged roads.
